Par votre engagement aupr\u00e8s d'ADRA, vous contribuez \u00e0 l'\u00e9ducation des enfants vivant dans des zones difficiles d'acc\u00e8s et fragiles. Mais l'\u00e9ducation ne se r\u00e9sume pas \u00e0 la lecture, \u00e0 l'\u00e9criture et au calcul. C'est aussi apprendre sa valeur en tant qu'\u00eatre humain. C'est apprendre, peut-\u00eatre pour la premi\u00e8re fois, les droits inh\u00e9rents \u00e0 la naissance. Ce type d'\u00e9ducation est tout aussi transformateur que celui dispens\u00e9 en classe.<\/p>

Au moins, c'\u00e9tait Ma Hnin Aye.* Elle vit dans un \u00c9tat du nord du Myanmar o\u00f9 le conflit et l'instabilit\u00e9 frappent les communaut\u00e9s. Pour aggraver la situation s\u00e9curitaire, Ma Hnin Aye et son fils de quatre ans ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9s \u00e0 la violence et aux traumatismes dans leur propre foyer.<\/p>

\u201cMy husband was always on the phone with another woman and dating secretly\u2026After nine months of their relationship, I couldn\u2019t endure it anymore. I told him I knew he was cheating with another woman. He told me to catch him if I could. When I told him not to date the other woman, he started arguing with me.\u201d<\/p>

La dispute a rapidement d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9, son mari la battant jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'elle ne puisse plus se tenir debout.<\/p>

\u201cI always tell my close friend about my problems with my husband. When I told her I didn\u2019t want to continue my relationship, she gave me information about the Women\u2019s LEAD office under the BRIGHT project, which is supporting women who face violence.\u201d<\/p>

Le projet BRIGHT, financ\u00e9 par Affaires mondiales Canada et vous-m\u00eame, soutient l'\u00e9ducation des plus vuln\u00e9rables au Myanmar, au Niger et au Soudan. BRIGHT aide les enfants non scolaris\u00e9s \u00e0 retourner \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole\u00a0; offre aux jeunes des moyens de sortir de la pauvret\u00e9\u00a0; et accompagne les survivantes de violences sexistes, comme Ma Hnin Aye, pour leur permettre d'acc\u00e9der aux soins et au soutien dont elles ont besoin.<\/p>

The Women\u2019s LEAD staff, partners in the BRIGHT project, warmly welcomed Ma Hnin Aye and listened to her story. After outlining all the services they could provide, they asked how they could support her. She requested medical care after the horrible beating her husband inflicted on her.<\/p>

\u201cWhen we returned from the hospital, they gave me the psychological support I needed.\u201d<\/p>

Ma Hnin Aye comprend d\u00e9sormais sa valeur et ses droits. Sa vie a chang\u00e9 pour le mieux, lib\u00e9r\u00e9e de la violence domestique qui r\u00e9gnait autrefois sur elle.<\/p>

\u201cNow I\u2019m not as weak as I used to be. Now I live and work with my son. We live a peaceful life.\u201d<\/p>

Ma Hnin Aye wants this freedom from fear and harm to be the reality for all. She shares what she has learned and the services provided by Women\u2019s LEAD and BRIGHT with her friends and community.<\/p>
