Anna a six ans et vit en Tanzanie, en Afrique. Bien que n\u00e9e avec l'albinisme, c'est une fille charmante et confiante.<\/p>\n

Anna lives with her mother and grandmother and is the only child in the household. When asked about her genetic condition Anna tosses her head back and laughs saying \u201cElle<\/em> (sa grand-m\u00e8re), m'aime comme je suis<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

At her young age, Anna is unaware of the dangers that face Persons with Albinism in Tanzania. \u00a0She does not know of the ritual killings and amputations, especially of children, that began to spread in Tanzania in the late 2000s.\u00a0 She is unaware that across the country, Persons with Albinism are believed to be \u201chaunted beings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anna\u2019s greatest fear is not Albinism. Her greatest fear is not being able to go to school, to continue her education beyond primary level.<\/p>\n

Pour sensibiliser aux risques de cancer de la peau et aider \u00e0 r\u00e9duire sa pr\u00e9valence chez les personnes atteintes d'albinisme, ADRA Canada, en coop\u00e9ration avec ADRA Tanzanie et d'autres partenaires, a lanc\u00e9 le projet ESCAPE (Early Skin Cancer Awareness, Prevention, and Engagement).<\/p>\n

Dans ce projet, nous distribuons un \u00e9cran solaire indispensable, engageons les communaut\u00e9s dans une campagne de sensibilisation du public et travaillons avec des dermatologues locaux et des agences de sant\u00e9 publique pour d\u00e9tecter et traiter rapidement le cancer de la peau chez les personnes atteintes d'albinisme dans six r\u00e9gions de Tanzanie.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
