Project Context
The FOSTER-II project, titled “Food Security Enhancement and Agricultural Resilience of the Earthquake Affected Rural Nepalese Farmers, Phase II,” is implemented by ADRA Nepal and the Resource Identification and Management Society (RIMS – Nepal). The project operates in selected wards of Dhunibeshi Municipality, Thakre, Galchhi, and Gajuri Rural Municipalities. It aims to improve food security and agricultural resilience among rural farmers affected by earthquakes in Nepal.
Project Summary
The project focuses on enhancing food security through agricultural support and capacity building for local farmers. During this reporting period, activities included training lead farmers, veterinary animal health workers (VAHWs), and nursery operators to improve community-level agricultural practices. Despite some operational challenges, such as delays due to local elections and leadership changes, the project has continued to support local farmers with resources, training, and technical assistance. The FOSTER-II project has effectively engaged community members, fostering resilience and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
