Reflect Circles
EMBRACE’s main vehicle for trainings at the community level was through small groups.
These groups were comprised of members who were familiar with each other and led by a
120
1 2 0 community member. This created a safe space for members to open up, share, and learn. 121
Depending on the community’s preference, the groups could be mixed with men and women,
or simply women only and men only. To free up parents’ time to attend the groups, children’s
groups were also formed. While the parents learned about the importance of nutrition,
sanitation, hygiene, child development, the importance of maternal care, and the positive
impact of gender equality, children were also learning about handwashing and hygiene and
developing their minds through age-appropriate activities.
