Project Context

The “Providing Vital and Dignifying Assistance Efficiently (PROVIDE)” project in Lebanon addresses the urgent needs of vulnerable populations affected by the country’s ongoing economic crisis, compounded by the impacts of the Syrian refugee influx and recent political instability. Lebanon is grappling with high inflation, unemployment, and a severe shortage of basic goods and services, leaving many households struggling to meet their daily needs. The PROVIDE project aims to deliver essential support, including food assistance, health services, and basic necessities, to both Lebanese citizens and refugees, prioritizing a dignified approach that respects the needs and rights of all beneficiaries.

Project Summary

The PROVIDE project has successfully delivered critical assistance to vulnerable communities in Lebanon, enhancing their ability to cope with the ongoing economic and humanitarian crisis. Key activities include the distribution of food vouchers and cash assistance, enabling families to purchase essential items while supporting local markets. The project also provides healthcare services and hygiene kits, targeting households with young children, elderly members, and those with chronic illnesses. Despite operational challenges, such as fluctuating market conditions and access constraints, PROVIDE has adapted by using digital platforms for aid distribution and coordinating closely with local partners. The project has played a vital role in alleviating immediate hardships, ensuring that assistance is delivered efficiently and respectfully, thereby supporting the dignity and well-being of those most in need in Lebanon.
