Restoring Hope in Humanity
When disaster strikes, love responds. Disasters don’t wait for us to be ready or for help to arrive.
When crisis strikes, families need food, shelter, and safety as quickly as possible. Every day, around the world, families are forced to make impossible decisions, from leaving behind their homes to stretching what little food they have.
Whether caused by wildfires here at home, hurricanes in Jamaica, or conflict in places like Ukraine, Lebanon, and Sudan, every crisis looks different, but the need is the same.
Your gift today will help rebuild homes destroyed by disasters and conflict, distribute food, water, and hygiene kits to displaced families, and provide ongoing financial and psychosocial support to those facing unimaginable loss.
Together, we can restore hope in humanity one life at a time.
Key areas of impact:
In Lebanon, ongoing violence has forced families from their homes with little warning. Entire communities have been displaced, schools have been turned into shelters, and access to basic necessities has been severely disrupted. Children’s education has been interrupted, and families are living in uncertainty, unsure of what comes next.
Sudan is facing one of the world’s most urgent humanitarian crises. Conflict has displaced millions, while food shortages have pushed families to the brink of famine. Many are surviving on minimal resources, with limited access to clean water, healthcare, or stable shelter.
Years into the conflict, millions of Ukrainians remain displaced, and daily life is still marked by instability and loss. Families continue to face damaged infrastructure, limited access to services, and ongoing trauma. Even as global attention shifts, the need for support remains constant.
Wildfires have devastated communities across Canada, forcing families to evacuate with little notice and leaving many without homes to return to. In a matter of hours, lives are upended, but recovery can take months or even years.
Hurricane Melissa caused widespread damage in Jamaica, destroying homes, disrupting livelihoods, and leaving families without access to clean water and basic necessities. Even after the storm passes, recovery is long and uncertain.

Stories
Salia’s Dream Continues — Sudan
In Sudan, a 19-year-old named Salia still holds onto her dream of becoming a doctor. When war broke out, she and her family were forced to flee Khartoum. Now living in a displacement camp, they are among more than 12 million people uprooted by conflict. Food is scarce, and it is easy to be overlooked.
Through ADRA’s response, families like Salia’s are receiving clean water, sanitation, and financial assistance, support that helps them meet urgent needs with dignity. Because of this, Salia is still moving toward her dream.
Dennis’ Moment of Relief Amidst Uncertainty — Canada
Dennis remembers the moment his family lost their apartment to the wildfires. After evacuating, they returned not to a home, but to temporary housing. With his wife unable to work and three children to support, the weight of providing fell entirely on him.
ADRA stepped in and provided emergency financial assistance to Dennis and his family. When asked what the emergency support meant, his answer was simple: it meant food on the table and a moment of stability when everything else felt uncertain.
