Our Story
Adventist Development and Relief Agency
ADRA has been the official humanitarian agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1985. We work with communities in Canada and around the world to end extreme poverty and deliver emergency relief. In more than 100 countries we provide water, sanitation, health, food, education, and income opportunities so that all may live as God intended.

ADRA Canada is part of the global ADRA network that has developed relationships with governments and communities worldwide. With the strength that comes from these connections, funds and supplies can be quickly mobilized in response to emergencies.
Each year, ADRA implements thousands of projects that benefit millions of people.
Seventh-day Adventist Welfare Service (SAWS) was incorporated and created to aid those affected by serious disasters.
Name changed to Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) to reflect the broadening scope of impact.
Partnership with the Canadian Government to improve and save lives of women and children in remote regions.
