Response Continues in the Philippines
November 18, 2025

After quickly moving into a needs assessment on the ground—evaluating needs in Northern & Central Luzon and the Bicol Region— ADRA has been activating National Emergency Management Plans. Our response has been scaled up to provide food and multipurpose cash assistance to affected households. So far, ADRA Philippines has targeted over 8,700 households for assistance—comprising roughly 36,500 people.
ADRA projects had already been operating in the Philippines before Typhoon Uwan/Fung-Wong. Recent contributions from the ADRA network, churches, and donors have brought the total funding for emergency projects in the Philippines this year to over $280,000 (USD).
ADRA Philippines has also been actively participating in the National Shelter and Health Cluster coordination meetings, which bring together humanitarian actors, government agencies, and local partners to coordinate a unified and effective response in the affected areas. These groups share information to help identify the highest priority needs and to ensure the situation is assessed accurately and efficiently.
As the response effort unfolds, a staggering truth is flooding across the minds of all those involved: communities in tropical climates are becoming much more vulnerable to increasingly volatile weather patterns. Typhoons and hurricanes are increasing in intensity and frequency across the globe, and communities like these in the Philippines pay the price.
As our work progresses, ADRA hopes to begin a next step—helping families repair or rebuild damaged homes. ADRA is determined to continue delivering lifesaving care to the most vulnerable, in the name of Justice, Compassion, and Love.
Standing Strong with the Philippines
November 13, 2025

Communities supported through ADRA projects in the Philippines have been deeply affected by the recent series of typhoons.
After Typhoon Opong (Bualoi) struck in late September, thousands of families across Eastern Visayas, Bicol, and nearby regions faced severe flooding and damage to homes. ADRA, through its local partners, responded immediately, providing food packs, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) kits, and cash assistance to help the most vulnerable households meet their urgent needs and begin recovery.
Now, only weeks later, Super Typhoon Fung-Wong (Uwan) has hit many of the same areas with destructive winds, torrential rain, and landslides. Communities in the Bicol and Central Luzon regions, still recovering from earlier storms, have once again been devastated.
ADRA Philippines is currently conducting rapid assessments to determine the most pressing needs. Our teams are working closely with local governments, church partners, and community organizations to provide coordinated, efficient, and compassionate assistance. The focus in the coming weeks will be on shelter repair, livelihood restoration, and access to clean water and sanitation—key steps toward helping families regain stability.
Your continued prayers and support make this work possible. Together, we can bring hope and tangible help to families in the Philippines as they recover and rebuild—stronger and together.
