Across Lebanon, ongoing economic hardship continues to push vulnerable families deeper into crisis. Elderly individuals, especially women living without stable income or family support, are facing impossible choices between food, medicine, and shelter.
For Ramza, an elderly mother and sole caregiver, survival has become a daily struggle. Living in a small rented home, she cares full-time for her 33-year-old daughter, who lives with severe mental and physical disabilities and suffers from epilepsy.
With rising medical costs, food insecurity, and the constant threat of eviction, Ramza felt overwhelmed by the weight of caring for her daughter alone. Through ADRA’s humanitarian assistance program, she received vital food support that brought immediate relief during a deeply difficult season.
“I am very grateful and thankful to ADRA,” she said. “I will forever be thankful.”
Kariman, another elderly woman living alone, faced similar hardship. With little income and no reliable support system, even basic necessities became out of reach. At times, she could not afford bread or clean drinking water.
“I reached a time where I did not even have bread,” Kariman said. “I slept sometimes with stomach pain because there is no food.”
After receiving ADRA’s assistance, Kariman was finally able to purchase essential food items again and regain a sense of dignity and stability.
For vulnerable individuals like Ramza and Kariman, this assistance is more than emergency aid. It is a reminder that they are not alone. Thanks to the generosity of ADRA supporters like you, families across Lebanon are receiving practical relief, dignity, and renewed hope during an ongoing crisis.
