Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Helping communities develop convenient sources of pure water not only saves lives, but it also makes people’s lives better. For 773 million people living in our world today, the only water available may be as far as 10 kilometres away from where they live. After the long walk, the water that they do find may be contaminated with toxins or disease-causing agents.
Help Provide Clean Water
From the simple acts of drinking and cleaning to irrigating crops and providing water for livestock, a fresh water source is vital for life. ADRA is partnering with communities to improve water supplies, build sanitation facilities, and offer training on proper sanitation and hygiene so that all may live with dignity.
With your support, ADRA helps communities through:
- Wells and boreholes that bring safe water directly to villages.
- Filtration and purification systems that ensure water is safe to drink.
- Toilets and sanitation facilities that protect health and restore dignity.
- Hygiene training and hygiene kits that equip families to prevent disease.
The Impact on Girls
The benefits go far beyond health. In many communities, girls are responsible for walking long distances to fetch water, keeping them out of school. When clean water is nearby, girls spend more time in classrooms, opening the door to education, opportunity, and a brighter future.
By providing clean water and sanitation, you are not just saving lives. You are giving families hope, dignity, and the foundation to thrive.
