Nature Positive Food System for Climate Change Adaptation
Project Summary
The “Nature Positive Food Systems for Climate Change Adaptation” (Nature+) project, implemented by ADRA Kenya, focuses on building climate-resilient communities in Kitui County, Kenya. The project promotes sustainable agricultural practices, soil and water conservation, and biodiversity restoration to enhance livelihoods and environmental sustainability. By engaging women, youth, and other vulnerable groups, Nature+ aims to address gender inequalities and empower participants through training, resource access, and leadership opportunities. Key activities include conservation agriculture, farmer-to-farmer training, establishment of community tree nurseries, and infrastructure development such as sand dams and farm ponds. The project emphasizes inclusive participation to foster long-term resilience and adaptive capacity in response to climate challenges.
