Project Context

Sudan: Sudan Humanitarian Response in El-Gezira and White Nile States

Project Summary

The Sudan Humanitarian Response in El-Gezira and White Nile States (SHREW) project, implemented by ADRA Sudan and the local partner Nada Al-Azahar, addresses critical needs among conflict-affected and displaced populations in Sudan. The project focuses on providing multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA), improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and offering protection services, particularly for women and girls at risk of gender-based violence (GBV). Through gender-responsive and inclusive interventions, the project aims to enhance resilience, address immediate humanitarian needs, and promote the dignity of vulnerable populations. Activities include cash transfers, rehabilitation of water systems, distribution of hygiene kits, and establishment of community-based protection networks.
