Full, in the Face of Affliction

You have been instrumental in bringing much-needed support to Anahid – a 57-year-old woman who has endured and survived through several immense struggles. Formerly a hospital worker, Anahid was forced to quit her job a long time ago after being diagnosed with diabetes and a severe thyroid condition. Her health problems became severe enough that 11 years ago, she was forced to have her left foot’s toes and her entire right leg amputated.
Updates from Yemen

We have received a quarterly report about how your support of ADRA has been making a difference in Yemen. With one of the direst humanitarian crises in the world, Yemen is a nation in desperate need of help. Your contributions are saving people’s lives.
Syria and Turkïye Update

Earlier this year, the earthquake that rocked Syria and Türkiye left the world shocked and shaken. Already subject to protracted violence over many years, Syrian communities found their problems compounding as existing struggles ran up against new ones. For some families, sons bearing serious wounds and health conditions sustained during combat complicated the process of fleeing from crumbling homes and travelling across town to find new shelter. For others, the economic impacts of the long war had left some very full households with only one breadwinner.
Cleaning Up After Otis

As an ADRA supporter, you have been part of the ADRA network’s immediate response to the ravages of Hurricane Otis in Mexico.
Now I Don’t Have to Borrow Money

In 2023, ADRA donors responded to the Syria earthquake, supporting Rima’s family in Aleppo. The earthquake left them unable to return home, and her husband lost his job. They relied on their 21-year-old daughter’s income until ADRA provided weekly food kits, helping them save money and regain stability. Your support makes a difference.
Sustaining Support for Syrians

ADRA donors like you have contributed to relief for multiple families in Syria in the aftermath of the earthquake. Jahidah Mohammed Eid al-Ali is a 50-year-old Syria women who is surviving in Syria alongside her husband (55) and several children and grandchildren. ADRA donors helped bring food baskets to families like Jahidah’s, who are currently living in collective shelter in Sports City Centre in Latakia. Jahida says that ADRA’s provision of food has helped her family “immensely,” and they are extremely grateful for your part in this assistance.
Keep Girls Safe (And Educated!)

As midsummer university graduation photos pop up across our social media feeds, we want to share some success stories with you, our donors. The stories of Tida and Naseang are just two examples of how your contributions to the Keep Girls Safe (KGS) project in Thailand are helping to break barriers to education for young women from vulnerable backgrounds.
“Now I Don’t Have to Borrow Money”

This year has been a tumultuous one all around the world. But ADRA donors like you have empowered continuous response to some of the worst disasters that people have faced in 2023, including the earthquake in Syria.
The boy rescued by the Keep Girls Safe project

You may hear us often making a point to emphasize gender equality in our work at ADRA. Some of our project participants themselves often wonder why we put such an emphasis on helping women and girls. The reality is, when you support girls, you often end up helping boys along the way. And that’s exactly what you helped accomplish with Paul.
BRACE Project Changing lives in Kenya

We have been working for some time in Turkana County, Kenya. Your support for ADRA has been giving multiple communities a chance to build a better future for themselves. One group of 22 people – consisting of 10 men and 12 women – has grown from growing no vegetables to having 5 acres of crops to farm, as well as an acre of pasture for animals. Meanwhile, a few members of the community used money from their savings and loans group to start a collective poultry enterprise.
