Health

Global Statistics

While access to healthcare is a basic human right, millions of people still lack essential medical services. ADRA works to improve community health by providing clean water, medical care, and preventive education. When health systems are strengthened, families thrive, children grow stronger, and communities become more resilient.

Every day, preventable diseases continue to take lives simply because people cannot access doctors, vaccines, or clean water. ADRA is committed to changing that — one community at a time.

Half the world’s population still lacks access to essential health services

2 billion people face catastrophic or impoverishing health expenses each year

5 million children under age 5 die annually from preventable causes

Health

Health is at the heart of so much of the world’s poverty and suffering. When communities don’t have enough nutrition, when they depend on unsafe water sources, when they don’t have access to reliable healthcare, every life suffers.

Finding sustainable ways to improve access to nutrition, clean water, healthcare, and health information can be the difference between life and death for the men, women, and children you help us serve around the world every day.

Together, we can

Through your support, ADRA strengthens health in tangible, life-changing ways. Together, we:

Deliver clean water and sanitation solutions to prevent the spread of disease.

Equip local clinics and hospitals with essential medicines, equipment, and supplies.

Partner with healthcare providers to expand access to quality care.

Provide nutritious foods and promote sustainable agriculture to combat hunger and malnutrition.

Offer health education that empowers families to make informed decisions for their well-being.

Resilient health systems and empowered providers lead to healthier communities. By supporting healthcare providers and health systems, you help ensure families everywhere can access the care they deserve. Because everyone has the right to health and well-being.

TOGETHER in Uganda: Strengthening Care for SGBV Survivors and Prevention of SGBV

The TOGETHER project in Uganda is building stronger systems of care for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Through training healthcare providers, equipping clinics with essential resources, and creating youth-friendly spaces, TOGETHER is ensuring survivors receive compassionate care and communities are better equipped to prevent future cases of SGBV.
